John Selzer was born in Alliance, Nebraska in 1952. He attended the University of Nebraska, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with high distinction in 1974. John received his J.D. Degree with distinction in 1977 from the University of Nebraska College of Law. During law school, he served as an editor of the Nebraska Law Review and was named to the Order of the Coif national legal honorary society. John joined the firm in 1977 after graduation from law school. His practice is in the areas of estate planning, probate and estate administration, banking and finance law, business and commercial law, real estate law and business organizations. He frequently participates as a speaker at local seminars on topics in these areas. John has been involved in several civic and community organizations. Presently he is a member and past president of the Scottsbluff-Gering Rotary Club. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Nebraska Foundation, the Board of Advisors of the Scotts Bluff County YMCA, and the Board of Directors of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church Foundation. In 1998, John received the University of Nebraska Lincoln Panhandle Alumni Association's Alumnus of the Year Award. He is a member of the Scotts Bluff County, West Nebraska and Nebraska State Bar Associations. John's wife, Ann, is a retired teacher. They have two adult children, Jane and John. His interests include travel and sports, especially golf and college football.
